Definition of Disciplined agile delivery (DAD)

Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD) is a hybrid agile methodology that combines the best practices from several different agile methodologies. These are such as Scrum, Kanban, and Lean. A DAD team designs it to be a flexible and customizable framework. This can be tailored to the specific needs of the organization. DAD is made to be both scalable and adaptable. Making it suitable for a wide range of projects and organizations.

The DAD methodology is based on the Agile Manifesto. This emphasizes individuals and interactions, working software, customer collaboration, and responding to change. It also incorporates the principles of Lean product development. Which emphasizes the flow of value, the reduction of waste, and the continuous improvement.

The Disciplined Agile Delivery team divides it into several phases, each with its own set of practices and objectives. In the first phase, Inception, the team defines the project and assembles the project team. The second phase is Construction, during which the team builds and tests the solution. The third phase is Transition, during which the team delivers the solution to the customer and provides support.

DAD also includes several ceremonies. Such as the Iteration Planning Meeting, the Daily Stand-up, the Iteration Review, and the Iteration Retrospective. The team designs these ceremonies to ensure that they stay on track, identify and address any issues. This is to continuously improve the process.

DAD also includes several roles, such as the Project Manager, the Scrum Master, and the Team Lead. These roles are designed to ensure that the team has the necessary leadership and guidance to be successful.
